The main character in the book, detective Flick Lane is a women. I think she is in her thirties, with short blonde hair and brown, wise eyes. She works a lot, but she almost never looks tired.
She recently lost her partner, killed in action. He was her partner and a best friend, she is still getting over the loss, but she has to move on and do her job as a detective. Her boss, chief of Denver P.D, assingned her to resolve a murder case in close by Pine Crest, a beatiful, quiet village where things like that don't happen.
At first, she was reluctant to go there, but as a professional, she took the job and did her best. She's conducting the investigation thouroghly. She resolved the case by asking many questions, putting all the pieces together, even risking her life. And the best reward for her, was putting away a man who killed her partner.

Great summarization of a character that might be used as a description to the movie or a book (which we usually see at the back of a cover)! straight and on business! I personally like that MM was neutral describing the character which gives a chance for us to make our oun opinion about Flick Lane.
